Cameramen Jimmy Encarnacion, Angelo Valderama, professor Octavio Dinampo and world class journalist Cecilia Victioria Drilon or Ces Drilon have been reported missing in Jolo, Sulu. The news striked the public early Tuesday.
I was surprised when I heard about it because I watched the national news programs this morning and at lunch time (Balitanghali at Qtv) and it was never mentioned. The family didn’t want to reveal the situation to the public since things might get out of control with the media coming into play.
Official statement from ABS-CBN:
“All efforts are underway to find them and bring them home. Until we learn more details, ABS-CBN News requests other media to report on this matter with utmost consideration for the safety of our news team.”
Let us hope and pray for the safety of the team. Ces is one of my favorite broadcast journalists. She is one of the best in her craft. While writing this entry, I could recall her appearance in the standoff at Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City, November last year. She bravely delivered live updates of the situation.

I landed at the official blog of NBN-ZTE deal whistle blower, Jun Lozada through PinoyBlogero tonight. Lozada has vacated the news headlines and the media in general. Despite the weakening if his battle against the NBN-ZTE culprits, Lozada is still hopeful that at the end a seemingly endless tunnel, daylight awaits.
I followed Lozada’s statements when it first blasted out. I thought he was the little “David” who could bring down the “Goliaths” in the government. Unfortunately things didn’t work smoothly for the star witness. Now, I am not sure if the senate has lifted the security support for Lozada as demanded by senator Enrile. The senator complained about the expenses Lozada brings to the senate. His blog will definitely be a medium for the crusade. Also, it will be a channel for support, morally or financially.
Browsing over his blog, the less than 2 months old blog already has 993 comments. Yep! that’s 993 plus, with only 7 posts/entries. But the 7 entries are content-packed!
More More: Pamapanga’s governor, Gov. Eddie Panlilio is also into the blogosphere with his recently launched blog.
I was surprised when I bumped into a blog post saying that Rudy Fernandez passed away already. I’m not a fan but I sympathize with his family because my grandparents battled and died with cancer also. The 56 year old actor ends his battle against peri-ampullary cancer today.
His fight against cancer was well followed by the people because he was an inspiration to other cancer patients. The media was also with him reporting the medications he took and the progress he had.

Cancer is such a traitor. Damn deadly! My condolences to the family of Mr. Fernandez.

Oil Price + 1.50/liter by weekend. A week ago, I had an entry about oil companies loving 1.50/liter increase. They are about to prove me right. There’s just no stopping the oil price hike. On the other hand, lifting of the 12% VAT on oil price seems to be an impossible dream. The administration is very vocal in their resistance of the said action. Plus, I saw the president boasting over the media the P400 million earnings from oil tax. ACCORDING TO HER, this was utilized for reforms, subsidies, other funds.
The cost of rice is extra high here in Mindanao, particularly in Davao City. No one could clearly explain why. PryceGas LPG is at P677 while Shellane LPG at P690 (as of June 2, Buhangin, Davao City).
BAND AID SOLUTIONS
I was dismayed looking at the news over the past two weeks. To name some, NO UNIFORM POLICY, P500 electricity bill subsidy.
It’s been a long time since I had my last tasks from Smorty. I’m wondering why I don’t have opportunities anymore. Anyone withe the same experience? Despite low rates, Smorty is still a good income generator for bloggers. Plus the fact that they send their payments weekly. BlogtoProfit also has been non-existent. The last thing I heard is that they have no more advertisers for Filipino blogs. BTOP was so generous to me when I started out until they modified their system. Their site is still though. I hope everything goes back to business very soon.
Good thing I get tasks almost everyday from Blogsvertise. The downside is, as I’ve mentioned before, they pay on a monthly basis. Well, better wait for something that nothing. With PayPerPost, well I’m not that into it. I’m not really sure why. Upon signing up, you can instantly earn $20.00 with your first post and there are a lot of tasks up for grabs. I’m also missing my opportunities in SponsoredReviews. I seem to forget logging in and check on possible tasks..duh. I think I’m afraid I might have too much sponsored posts on my Shout Now blog which might hurt my site rankings. Read JohnChow’s thoughts on this.
